ANDREW MAUDSLEY has been designing and building horseboxes for more than 20 years. His late father Brian was known and respected throughout the country and Andrew is maintaining the family tradition.

New-builds, conversions, part-builds or repairs. Nothing is too much trouble for Andrew and his team; no detail is overlooked.

The company’s after-sales service is second to none and includes servicing, plating and maintenance.

All Andrew Maudsley horseboxes now have fully-tilting cabs designed in-house, while most have power ramps. A large range of vehicles is on offer, such as one-horse (two-pony) 3.5 ton

and three-horse 7.5 ton horseboxes, up to 18 ton five-, six- and seven-horse luxury travel homes.

Chassis are sourced from a massive database of commercial vehicle dealers backed by a vast knowledge of the commercial vehicle market. Andrew Maudsley buy what’s right for the job. However, you may wish to use your own vehicle and if so we will always be ready to give advice.

   Southern Horseboxes are situated centrally on the south coast of England at the Hampshire and West Sussex Border.  We specialise in building custom horseboxes to order, aimed at those wishing to make the transition from a trailer set up or just first venturing into the benefits of owning a purpose built vehicle.  Our entry level conversions are built to last using both practical and durable materials, but priced to be a realistic starting point into custom built horsebox ownership.
 Our premises have both the skilled staff and the facilities to turn your ideas and requirements into a fully functional vehicle capable of transporting both yourselves and your horses in comfort and safety.  Starting from scratch our experienced owner will assist you in choosing from a wide range of options available to suit your requirements and your budget, resulting in a finished product that is individually tailored to you and your needs. From the initial vehicle suitability and dimensional design for the size and number of horses you intend to carry, right down to the final details of trim, upholstery, fittings, and finally paint scheme and colour.
